The speaker will discuss and examine a number of practical examples and some of the many decided Court and Tax Tribunal cases highlighting major valuation issues, including:
- Bases of and factors affecting valuation – earnings, assets, dividends, other
- The approach to valuing different sizes of shareholdings, for tax and other purposes
- Negotiations with Shares and Assets Valuation of HM Revenue & Customs
- The information standard
- Goodwill
- Valuation of employment related securities
- Valuing shares at 31st March 1982 or at other base cost dates
- Valuations for non-fiscal purposes, including “fair value”, quasi-partnership, valuations under the Articles of Association and Shareholders’ Agreements
