  • The issues arising in valuation for tax purposes, including negotiations with Shares and Assets Valuation of HM Revenue & Customs
  • The differences in approach to valuation for tax and other purposes

The speaker will discuss and examine a number of practical examples and some of the many decided Court and Tax Tribunal cases highlighting major valuation issues, including:

  • Bases of and factors affecting valuation – earnings, assets, dividends, other
  • The approach to valuing different sizes of shareholdings, for tax and other purposes
  • Negotiations with Shares and Assets Valuation of HM Revenue & Customs
  • The information standard
  • Goodwill
  • Valuation of employment related securities
  • Valuing shares at 31st March 1982 or at other base cost dates
  • Valuations for non-fiscal purposes, including “fair value”, quasi-partnership, valuations under the Articles of Association and Shareholders’ Agreements
