Many of us are self taught in the use of packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel. We consider ourselves reasonably proficient but may well be unaware of the many shortcuts and features of these packages which can dramatically increase our competence and efficiency. SESCA has commissioned Simon Hurst of The Knowledge Base to present a number of practical hands-on IT workshops.

Because these courses are written and presented by a fellow accountant with many years experience of training all levels of accountancy personnel, they are far more relevant and therefore more cost-effective than any general Office courses can be. They are designed for people working with accounting information.

The Word and Excel courses are designed to be of interest to existing users who feel they have gaps in their knowledge and expertise which they wish to fill. They are not intended for absolute beginners.

The Access and PowerPoint workshops are more introductory and do not assume prior knowledge of these packages.

The Excel for tax and Excel for audit courses focus on specific elements of spreadsheet use and design relating to work in tax and audit.

A workshop in Visual Basic is also available. It is designed as an introduction to VBA programming for people who don't program. Using practical examples it demonstrates what can be achieved quickly and easily, even if you have never written a single line of program code before.

LOCATIONS: Workshops may be held in our training room at Chart House, Reigate. (Click here for pdf directions and map)or in house training at your own premises. They run from 10.00am - 5.00pm. Numbers are limited to 6 to ensure delegates receive individual attention and each delegate has their own PC workstation. The workshops are run on a demand basis. If you are interested, give us a call on 01737 223999 or email courses@sesca.co.uk.

Details of topics covered are given below however as numbers are restricted delegates may request coverage of specific topics not listed.
